Tenzing Hillary Trail- Classic Everest Experience
Edmund Hillary
20 July 1919- 11 January 2008
Tenzing Norgay Sherpa
29 May 1914- 9 May 1986
This is an iconic Everest journey following the footsteps of early expeditions to the Khumbu region, including the famous 1953 expedition in which the renowned New Zealander and Nepalese duo, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, climbed Mount Everest for the first time.
This is a spectacular 22-day journey tracing the path of the 1953 expedition. Starting from Jiri, a village east of Kathmandu, the trek leads through Solu's rice paddies, farms, and Rai villages in the first seven days. Transitioning above Lukla into the Khumbu region, we traverse alpine forests, Sherpa villages, and Buddhist monasteries. The final stretch ascends to the base of the world’s highest peaks, including Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Mt. Everest. This unique approach offers diverse cultures, vegetation, and geography, with altitudes ranging from 1900m to 5500m.
As an added highlight, we'll detour to Pikey Peak, renowned for its breathtaking view of Mount Everest, a favorite of Sir Edmund Hillary himself. An exhilarating and rewarding adventure awaits!
