The Everest Base Camp trek, standing at 5,364 m (17,598 ft), is among the most renowned Himalayan routes, attracting around 40,000 trekkers annually through Lukla Airport (2,846 m (9,337 ft)). Travelers often fly from Kathmandu to Lukla to save time, as there are no roads connecting the two. The journey begins in Lukla, with climbers ascending to Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters/11,290 ft) and Dingboche (4,260 meters/13,980 ft) for acclimatization. The traditional trail via Tengboche monastery or the high trail via Mong La and Phortse leads to Everest Base Camp.
